Multi-Find/Change for Adobe InDesign and InCopy
Multi-Find/Change (MFC) is an Extension for Adobe InDesign and InCopy and later to manage and execute batches of saved Find/Change queries. MFC is the ideal tool for those who rely on Find/Change queries to correct and/or format text.
Description
Organize Find/Change Queries into Sets
MFC allows you to organize Find/Change queries into Sets (lists). Easy to use, the user interface enables drag and drop of different types of Find/Change queries into Sets.
Execute Multiple Find/Change Queries
Rather than executing individual Find/Change queries, MFC gives you the ability to perform Multiple Find/Change queries in a single operation. As a safeguard, it supports undo “Change All” to undo all the changes or undo by individual Find/Change query.
Export, Import and Share Sets
MFC has the ability to allow workgroups to share Sets and Find/Change queries. Sets and Find/Change queries can be exported into self–contained files (xml) for other users to import or share.
Rename and Delete Find/Change Queries
MFC complements the Adobe InDesign (or InCopy) Find/Change Editor, by adding simple one-step Rename and description properties to Find/Change queries, as well as providing an easier way to delete Find/Change queries.
- Adobe InDesign or Adobe InCopy 2020-2025 (MacOS or Windows)
- Internet Connection (for product activation)
- Download Multi-Find/Change 3.0
- Expand (unzip) the archive MultiFindChange.zip, it will expand into a file name MultiFindChange.zxp
- Quit InDesign
- Download ZXP Installer
- Install ZXP Installer
- Drag and drop MultiFindChange3.zxp onto ZXP Installer main window. Wait for the installation to be completed
- Restart Adobe InDesign
- On windows
After installation, the MFC panel may appear empty. To resolve this, restart Adobe InDesign as an Administrator. This step is only required once.
- On MacOS,
Occasionally, Find/Change queries may not display. This issue could be related to access privileges in the Adobe InDesign preferences folder. Restarting your Mac has been shown to resolve the problem. If the issue persists, you may need to reset Adobe InDesign preferences. Before doing so, ensure you back up your Find/Change queries located in the Adobe InDesign preferences folder, as resetting preferences will remove them.

To update MFC to the latest version, download the trial version (even if you have a licensed version) and follow the installation instructions.

The “SOFTWARE” refers to the computer program and all documentation accompanying this License Agreement. “USE” of the SOFTWARE means that the SOFTWARE is either installed on the permanent memory of a computer (hard disk or similar storage device), loaded in the temporary memory of a computer, or running on a central processing unit.
This End-User License Agreement (“LICENSE”) is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and Automatication MJM Lda. (“Automatication”). By installing, copying, or otherwise using the SOFTWARE, you accept all terms and conditions of this LICENSE.
1. License Grant
1.1 Free License
Automatication grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the SOFTWARE free of charge. This LICENSE allows you to use the SOFTWARE on any number of devices for personal or professional purposes.
2. Ownership
The SOFTWARE is licensed, not sold. Automatication reserves all rights not expressly granted to you under this LICENSE. Automatication and/or its licensors retain ownership of the SOFTWARE and all intellectual property rights therein.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
•Modify, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the SOFTWARE.
•Resell, rent, lease, or distribute the SOFTWARE for commercial gain.
•Use the SOFTWARE for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
4. Termination
This LICENSE is effective until terminated. Automatication may terminate this LICENSE at any time if you fail to comply with its terms. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the SOFTWARE in your possession.
5. Disclaimer of Warranty
The SOFTWARE is provided “AS IS,” without warranty of any kind. Automatication disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You assume all responsibility and risk for using the SOFTWARE.
6. Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall Automatication be liable for any incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to the use or inability to use the SOFTWARE. In jurisdictions that do not allow such exclusions, Automatication’s liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7. Export Restrictions
You agree not to export or transmit the SOFTWARE to any country prohibited by applicable export regulations. You shall comply with all relevant export laws.
8. Governing Law and Severability
This LICENSE shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. If any provision of this LICENSE is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
